This Christmas Decor is Lit — Literally! Our Modern Christmas Home decor went in a direction I wasn’t expecting, but I absolutely love how it turned out and can’t wait to show you!

Over the past five years, I have been adding a few new pieces to our Christmas decor collection each year. Not only has it kept things more affordable, but after a couple of years of this approach, our Christmas Decor now has a more collected look and feel vs everything feeling brand new.
Doing it this way has allowed me to find some really amazing pieces without breaking the bank, and I have still been able to change the overall look each Christmas!
Neon Christmas Decor

The way our living room is set up, the only place for the tree is between the built-ins. So, when I spotted these neon Merry Christmas signs in red at Hobby Lobby, I knew they would look stunning flanking the tree, so I grabbed two, and they did not disappoint. All I could find was this style that has a slightly different stack on their website. Here are several options I found on Etsy that are similar in case this one sells out.

Next up were these burgundy flocked nutcrackers from Target!! They fit in perfectly and might be my favorite addition next to the neon signs, obviously.

The oversized metal star was a standing metal art piece from Hobby Lobby from a few seasons ago. They sold out, but I’ve linked a few similar styles below.

When you are searching for things to add to your Christmas decor, try to think out of the box and repurpose items. In my opinion, this is when the magic happens, and using something that was originally meant for something else will give your decor an original feel. It’s funny because I feel like this is one of the things that I’m best at, and it just so happens to be the bane of my husband’s existence, but he always helps me figure out how to make it work.

This star was actually on a stand, so there is a long metal rod that extends down, and I just took it off the base and zip-tied it to the tree.

The bells on the mantel are super affordable and linked below. The flocked garland is a cheap option from Walmart. To spruce it up, I added bows in different colors of velvet ribbon that you can find here. Don’t forget to grab these command straps; they sell out every year and work so well for holding garland on the mantle nd they came out with green staps that completely blend in to the garland if you aren’t using flocked garland. You can snag the green set here.

Hopefully, you can find some inspiration from this peek at our home, all decked out for Christmas.
Slow down every chance you get and enjoy this holiday season, and have a Merry Christmas!
